New ‘Visa on Arrival’ will apply from 1 April 2025 to all citizens from countries that do not grant visa exemption to Namibians.

Portuguese Citizens will be required to apply for a Visa on Arrival to
Namibia as from 1 April 2025

As part of Namibia’s ongoing efforts to enhance travel facilitation and strengthen international relations, the Namibian government has approved a new visa on arrival regime aimed at streamlining entry into the country. Under this new framework, nationals and citizens of countries that have not yet reciprocated Namibia’s visa exemption will now have the option to apply for a visa online or upon arrival.

HOW TO APPLY:
Online: Visitors can apply online before arriving in Namibia via

OR
• Visa on Arrival: applications can be completed on arrival at the listed Namibian ports of entry: Hosea Kutako International Airport, Ariamsvlei, Impalila, Katima Mulilo, Mohembo, Ngoma, Noordoewer, Oshikango, Oranjemund, Trans-Kalahari Border Posts, Walvis Bay Harbour and Walvis Bay International Airport, ports of entry.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
• Valid passport (with at least 6 months validity + 3 blank pages)
• Completed visa application form
• Confirmation of accommodation (hotel reservation or invitation letter)
• Confirmation of sufficient funds
• Travel itinerary
• Travel/ Medical Insurance
• Full birth certificate or parental consent letter if travelling with children
• Online visa on arrival applicants require a printed copy of the approved e-visa

VISA REQUIREMENT FOR NON- RECIPROCATING COUNTRIES

The Cabinet of the Republic of Namibia has granted authorization to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security to introduce an entry visa requirement to countries that have not reciprocated the favourable treatment granted to their nationals when visiting Namibia. This strategic decision, aimed at fostering fair and balanced diplomatic relations, will affect a total of 31 countries. NAMIBIA´S PUBLIC HEALTH CONVID-19 GENERAL REGULATIONS

NAMIBIA  HAS LIFTED ITS STATE OF EMERGENCY ON SEPTEMBER 17.  THE COUNTRY WILL NOW BE GUIDED BY THE NEW PUBLIC HEALTH COVID-19 GENERAL REGULATIONS DERIVED FROM THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH ACT OF 2015. THE NEW REGULATIONS HAVE BEEN IN FORCE AS FROM 24TH OF SEPTEMBER 2020 AND WILL END ON 21 OF OCTOBER 2020.

Only Namibian Citizens,  Namibian Permanent Residence Permit holders and those domiciled in Namibia to be permitted to enter the country.

Travellers going for business, education,  health or tourism purposes will be permitted to enter the country . These categories, with the exception of tourists will be required to obtain prior approval through the Namibian missions 14 days in advance before traveling to Namibia.

Travellers are required to present a negative SARS- COV PCR test,  valid for seven days upon arrival. Travellers to be tested for COVID-19 on day five of the quarantine period at any facility and location of their choice.

All travelers except tourist to be subjected to mandatory quarantine at own cost, at government approved quarantine facilities (available@ www.namibiaturismboard.com.na). Namibian citizens may apply in advance for safe quarantine at their residences at own cost.

All travellers, except tourists, to remain at the quarantine facilities for a period of seven days, depending on the second COVID-19 test results. Travellers to make own arrangement for the COVID-19 test in Namibia.
